LOCALAD is a local classified-advertising service developed by NARESH KUMAR PRADHAN. This policy explains how LOCALAD handles information connected with its app and related website services. For privacy questions or requests, email care@localad.co.in.
By using LOCALAD services, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy.
Information we handle
Information you provide during registration or account use may include your name or user ID, phone number, email address, WhatsApp number, gender, address and location details. Registration uses a one-time password (OTP) to verify the registered phone number.
We also handle the information you choose to put in an advertisement, chat messages created through the service and records of transactions you make. A contact number entered in an advertisement is information you choose to make public.
How we use information
LOCALAD uses this information to:
- register and verify accounts and provide advertising services;
- publish and manage local classified advertisements and chats;
- maintain transaction history;
- respond to enquiries, invite service-improvement survey responses, communicate about service, security, privacy or administrative matters, and improve the service; and
- investigate suspected fraud or unlawful activity, protect users, enforce terms and respond to legal claims or lawful requests.
The contact form on this website opens a draft in your own email application. This static website does not submit or store the form message itself.
What others can see and when information is disclosed
Other users can see your user ID or name. If you enter a contact number in an advertisement, that number is also public. The phone number used only for OTP registration remains private unless you separately choose to include it in an advertisement.
LOCALAD does not rent or sell personal information. Apart from details you choose to publish, LOCALAD does not otherwise share private personal details with others. Information may be disclosed where needed to investigate suspected fraud or unlawful activity, protect safety, enforce the terms, defend legal claims, or comply with subpoenas, court orders or lawful requests from authorities.
Security
LOCALAD uses reasonable physical, managerial and technical safeguards against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, damage and alteration. Access to information is limited to authorised personnel who need it to provide the requested service or complete a transaction.
Internet transmissions cannot be made absolutely secure. LOCALAD does not accept liability for disclosure caused by transmission errors or unauthorised acts of third parties.
Retention and deletion
An advertisement is valid for the period of the plan selected by its user. Inactive chat messages are automatically deleted after 30 days. Sending at least one message during each 30-day period keeps a chat active; if a chat room is deleted, users can create a new one.
You may request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing care@localad.co.in. On a deletion request, account-related personal details, advertisements and chats are deleted except transaction records. Transaction records linked to Cashfree are retained for one year or longer, including after an account deletion request.
Correction and policy changes
You can correct or update account information in the app’s Account section. If you have lost access, email care@localad.co.in for help.
LOCALAD may change this policy. Changes take effect when posted to the service, and customers will be notified of updates.
